Senate rejects US based engineer Akintunde Akinwande as NERC's Chairman

The senate has rejected the nomination of US-based Professor, Akintunde Akinwande, as the chairman-designate of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC. At its plenary Tuesday, the senate based the rejection of Akinwande on his failure to attend the senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy's screening for all the NERC board member nominees in October last year.
Akinwande in a letter to the senate after his absence, said he is a tenured lecturer of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US and would require approval from the school authority to attend any screening/confirmation by the senate.

He said until such approval is granted, he will not be able to attend any screening.

The senate at plenary, however went on to confirm other members nominated on the board of the electricity commission. They are Sanusi Garba- Vice Chairman, Nathan Rogers Shatti-Commissioner, Moses Arigu-Commissioner, Dafe C. Akpeneve-Commissioner, Prof Frank Okafor-Commissioner and Dr Musiliu O Oseni-Commissioner.

Senate President Bukola Saraki said a letter will be sent to President Buhari to forward a new nominee for Chairman of the commission.

A pretty lady in wedding gown breast-feeds her baby despite people's reactions, though some commended her for her actions while some condemned her actions on basis of morality. But the truth be told, babies are babies and need to be fed as soon as one realizes they are hungry.

Most of this people preaching morality are wearing breast exposing clothes and call it fashion but cannot bring out that goddamned breast to feed their hungry babies because of so called 'morality'.

Where is the morality in starving your baby in public and happily showing your breast off in revealing clothes so as to look 'sexy' and attract comments from all angles with some calling you Mommy-la-hot, Sexy-momma etc. thunder when e go fire you will come like doctor's prescription, two in the morning and two in the night...Omo-Oshi!

Her response to critics...

"I enjoy nursing my son and I made sure when I chose my wedding dress I would be able to nurse throughout my entire night.

"And I was able to. So I just want to share with women that no matter who doubts you or who turns their noses up to breastfeeding that it can be done. No one should feel embarrassed about feeding their child in the most natural way."

Well, gradually Obama's stay in the white-house is winding-up and in less than 10 days he will be referred to as former president of the United States of America. Its really been a long-and-tough journey. We wish him well as it is not easy to steer the affairs of USA. May he be remembered by his works.
